Bradford City currently sit in the top half of EFL League One, although could look to recruit on deadline day.

The deadline of the January transfer window is approaching, with Bradford City sitting fifth in the League One table following the 28 games they have played so far this campaign.
However, with the deadline on the horizon today, the Bantams could look to improve their squad to both give themselves more depth and quality in certain positions, whilst also giving Alexander’s side the opportunity to cement their spot in the promotion places.
This article outlines five potential signings that Bradford City could pursue prior to the deadline of the window.
Ethan Wheatley who the Bantams have reportedly agreed a loan deal with made 25 appearances and netted three goals for Northampton Town before his loan was cut short this season.
Furthermore, the forward has made 29 shots with 12 of these on target, as well as having 90 touches in opposition boxes.
With the Manchester United youth player having the ability to play as a striker and in attacking midfield, this could be beneficial to the side as it adds more quality and depth in both positions.
However, with the forward currently injured, questions could arise about his ability to make an impact on the side straight away, which the Bantams arguably need with Will Swan and Antoni Sarcevic out injured.
Jake Beesley has scored 10 goals in League One so far this campaign for Burton Albion, with the forward also assisting on six occasions as well.
Furthermore, in the striker’s last spell at Blackpool, the 29-year-old scored 16 times in seventy-seven appearances.
Meanwhile, Stephen Humphrys and Will Swan have scored just nine goals between them during the League One campaign thus far.
With this in mind, the addition of Beesley to Graham Alexander’s squad could help to provide quality and an attacking spark.
However, questions could arise around the striker’s ability to make the step up to a potential candidate for promotion from a side that is currently in the relegation zone.
As well as this, the move to the Bantams may depend on how much they offer Albion, with City already having a reported six-figure bid rejected by Gary Bowyer’s side.
Elliot Lee currently plays for Wrexham and made 44 appearances in the Red Dragons promotion winning League One run last season.
However, since Phil Parkinson’s side made the step up to the EFL Championship, the central midfielder has struggled for gametime, with Lee only featuring three times in the EFL Cup thus far this season.
With this in mind, a move to Bradford City could be beneficial both for the midfielder and for City, with Lee bringing promotion-winning experience and depth to the side whilst also giving the midfielder more regular gametime at the club.
In his time at Luton Town this campaign, Kai Naismith has featured 24 times for the Hatters in the league.
Furthermore, the 33-year-old has won 56.7% of his duels and 57.1% of his aerial duels in these encounters, whilst also boasting a successful pass rate of 77.7%.
As a central defender, Naismith could boost the amount of options and quality to Alexander on the left side of defence.
Meanwhile, the former Bristol City man signed a permanent contract with Town in the summer, so this move would require the Bantams to pay a fee.
In his time at Wigan Athletic this campaign, Jensen Weir has featured 20 times for the Latics in the league.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old has completed 349 successful passes and a 26.7% successful cross rate in these encounters, whilst also completing 24 accurate long balls.
As a central midfielder, Weir could boost the amount of options available to Alexander in that position, with the Bantams arguably needing a backup to Max Power and Jenson Metcalfe.
Meanwhile, the former Port Vale man’s contract expires at the end of the campaign, arguably creating questions about his future, which could be at Bradford.
