Graham Alexander’s Bradford City will be aiming for a third win in a row as they travel to AFC Wimbledon, who sit 16th in League One currently.

The Bantams, coming into the match off a victory against high flying Stockport County, have shown good promise in the last week following a disappointing run in January.

Meanwhile, with a victory in London on Saturday, Bradford City could climb above Bolton Wanderers and move into third (should Bolton not win).

However, with 15 games of Bradford’s season to go, there is still a lot of football to be played before the end of the season.

Now, ahead of the game with Wimbledon on Saturday, Alexander has praised both Lee Evans and Jenson Metcalfe.

Speaking to the press about Evans, the City boss stated: “I thought he protected the space in front of their striker well.

“I think he was disappointed with his work on the ball, but he put the ball into the box for the goal. He showed ambition with his passing, which is what we want.”

Meanwhile, speaking about Metcalfe, Graham Alexander stated: “He found it tough at the start of the season. I took him off at half-time on a couple of occasions, which could knock you.

“However, I have not seen him carry any disappointment or negative energy once.

“He always wanted to get better and make sure he got in the team; now he wants to keep improving to stay there. He has progressed massively in the last two months.”

Lee Evans and Jenson Metcalfe played together in midfield for Bradford’s game against Stockport and look likely to do the same against AFC Wimbledon as Max Power serves the final game of his suspension.

With this in mind, praise from Alexander could motivate the pair to perform at the top of their game.
