Bradford City are due to face Rotherham United this weekend, with the Bantams having the opportunity to move into second place in League One.

City, who were promoted from League Two last season, are coming off the back of a 2-1 away win at Blackpool where Will Swan and Aden Baldwin scored the two goals needed.

Meanwhile, following the game, Alexander praised his side stating on the club website: “They scored a goal, which was disappointing from our perspective, but our focus did not change.

“Our discipline stayed the same as did our idea of how we play.

“This gave us the opportunity to stay in the game away from home.

“We then scored a brilliant second goal, and after that, I thought we were pretty comfortable.”

Now, Alexander has provided injury updates on Bradford City trip Bobby Pointon, Matt Pennington, and Nick Powell ahead of the Rotherham game on Saturday.

Speaking to the press, as reported by the Yorkshire Post, the Bradford City boss stated (in reference to Pointon): “It’s slowly getting better but it’s still at that point – we’ve seen the foot and his wound is not nice.

“Bobby’s probably played with loads of things, dead legs, bruised foot, the lot.

“But there are certain points where you go, ‘if I can’t strike a ball on my good foot’ and it’s on his left.

“He said himself that if it was his right foot, he’d be fine because that’s basically for standing on.”

Speaking about Matt Pennington, the manager stated: “Penno’s really close. We did have him pencilled in three or four weeks ago for maybe being involved in the Blackpool game.

“But because of the lack of training with the games being every couple of days, we couldn’t really get him that exposure to feel comfortable with it.

“He’s a really fit guy anyway and his recovery has been really quick. But we just haven’t been able to take him to the levels where we’re all comfortable that he can go into a game of football.”

Finally, speaking about Nick Powell, Graham Alexander stated: “He’s on the rehab side. He’s out with the medical team and has not joined in any football yet.

“We’re waiting to see how long that is going to take to get back into training levels.”

Now, fans may look towards further updates from Alexander about the trio’s condition in the coming weeks.
