Bradford City winger Adam Wilson has today left the club by mutual consent.
Earlier in the summer transfer window, the Bantams boss Graham Alexander confirmed that the first team trio of Tyler Smith, Adam Wilson, and Clarke Odour, who has most recently joined Grimsby Town on loan, which was an exclusive by The Lower Tiers, are not in his plans for the future, so they are free to leave.
Especially with Alexander stating that squad numbers are nearly at maximum following the 10 new additions Bradford City have made so far, after their last gasp promotion to League One on the last day of the season. These signings have been proven to be successful for the side, with them being unbeaten in the League and Cup so far this season.
About Adam Wilson
The former Newcastle academy graduate is a fast, direct winger and likes to cut in from the left to create opportunities.
The Kenyan joined Bradford City in the summer of the 2023/24 season when the club was managed by current Carlisle United boss Mark Hughes. After having an impressive spell at Cymru Premier side TNS, with him making 22 appearances and scored seven goals.
However, within his first season with the Valley Parade outfit, Wilson had an underwhelming spell, with him only registering a single goal and appearing 16 times.
Following the sacking of Mark Hughes in the 23/24 season, the new and current boss Graham Alexander, changed the formation, which included wing-backs, so Wilson went out of favour as he is an out-and-out winger.
With the former TNS man receiving limited game time at the end of the 23/24 campaign, the club decided to loan him back to TNS, where he scored 9 goals in 40 appearances.
A Good Signing?
The signing of Adam Wilson for a club has the potential to be brilliant for a club that plays wingers, as he brings EFL League Two experience, and he is a proven goal scorer. However, with Adam Wilson at 25 years old, he needs to be playing regular football. Can his new club give him that? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
