Bradford City’s are preparing for their first EFL League One season since 2019 following their last-gasp promotion. They have commenced their summer business with intent by signing eight players so far this transfer window.
Therefore, we are going to be listing the top five players the Bantams have signed so far in the summer transfer window.
LWB – Ibou Touray
The first signing we have chosen is former Stockport County man Ibou Touray who impressed at the Hatters in the 2024/25 season and contributed to them reaching the playoffs.
With his quick pace, an ability to cross, and a creative spark. It is clear why he is classed as a top signing for the Bantams.
The 30-year-old who has worked under Alexander before picked up three assists last season. As well as this, he had a 25.7% crossing accuracy with him completing 38 successful crosses.
Overall, in our opinion, this is a top signing for Bradford as the left wing back holds EFL League One quality and experience. As well as this, he has a brilliant ability to cross, which will be especially useful in Bradford’s gameplay as it evolves around crossing.
CB – Joe Wright
Our second signing we have chosen is centre half Joe Wright. The defender impressed last season at Scottish side Kilmarnock with him winning the player of the year.
One reason why we think the signing of the 30-year-old is a top addition is that he will bring much-needed experience to the Bantams, with him previously making 108 appearances in EFL League One at Doncaster Rovers.
The second reason is that he has the ability to score from set pieces, which Bradford lacked at times last season, with them only scoring 14 goals from set pieces. Wright contributed to two goals out of the 12 Kilmarnock scored from set pieces last season.
We think the experience, goal scoring threat, and defensive ability the former Doncaster man holds earn him a place on the list of top signings for the Bantams.
RWB – Josh Neufville
The third top signing is another player of the year and comes in the form of playoff winner Josh Neufville who played for AFC Wimbledon last campaign.
The versatile player impressed at his time at Wimbledon last campaign with him netting four times and assisting four times from wing-back. He also impressed whilst defending. This judgement comes from the 24-year-old winning 45 tackles and 169 duels.
This is a top signing because he holds the correct profile Alexander would like from a wing-back back which consists of quick pace and the ability to attack and defend.
CM – Max Power
Our penultimate top signing on our list is previous Wigan Athletic man Max Power who has spent two seasons away from the EFL.
We think the addition of the 31-year-old is a top signing, as he is a previous League One winner at Wigan Athletic. So he will bring a wealth of experience to Bradford. As well as this, he will act as a replacement for departing Richie Smallwood, who was at the heart of the Valley Parade’s midfield outfit last season.
In our opinion, we think this addition is a top-class signing as Power holds leadership and lots of experience and will play in a starting role in order to replace former captain Richie Smallwood.
ST – Stephen Humphrys
The final top signing on our list is another former Wigan man Stephen Humphrys who had an impressive season at Barnsley last campaign.
The striker will provide a direct attacking state to the Bantams with the 27-year-old netting nine times last season at Barnsley.
We think the addition of the League One winner is, on the face of being, excellent as he brings an eye for goal which will be useful with Andy Cook still out injured. As well as this, he brings League One experience, which Bradford will need to consolidate in EFL League One.
