According to reports from The Bolton News, Bradford City and other League One sides, including Barnsley and high-flying Lincoln City, are interested in signing Bolton Wanderers man John McAtee.

However when asking for his availability, Bolton have reportedly told the sides that he is not available.

Bolton Wanderers’ season so far

Currently sat third in the table, Bolton have had a fantastic season after losing top goalscorer Aaron Collins to MK Dons in the summer.

Just outside of the automatic spots by six points, it is all to play for in the second half of the season. John McAtee had fallen out of favour during this season, however has now started in all three of The Wanderers last three league games.

In these last three games he has created multiple big passes, two big chances created and an assist to cap it off.

In these three matches John McAtee has played, they have won every single one, going into these three games, Bolton had only one won game in their last five, drawing two and losing two.

This form they are coming into will be vital for their half a season push for automatics, further building a barrier from falling out of playoffs.

What Does Not Signing John McAtee Mean For The Other Sides?

With his resurgence into the side, it has piqued interest across the board, including Bradford City who are looking to finish inside the playoff positions after being promoted from League Two in the 24/25 season.

The Bantams are keen to bolster up in the attack with rumours of Tommy Leigh being loaned to Bristol Rovers according to Pete O’Rourke

Second place Lincoln City are also interested in the signing of John McAtee, however both Lincoln and Bolton being so close in points and in the table this is, for me, the least likely of clubs he would go to.

What do you think, should Bolton loan out John McAtee? Or should they keep hold of him to try and secure automatic promotion to the English second tier? Let us know on social media.
