Bristol City forward Harry Cornick has completed a loan move to Stevenage for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, providing the League One side with added pace, versatility, and experience in attack.

Limited Opportunities at Bristol City

The 30-year-old had been a fringe player at Ashton Gate over the past two seasons, with his last competitive start coming in March 2024. Manager Frédéric Struber previously described it as “perfect” for the fan favourite to gain more regular football, something that simply wasn’t available at Bristol City. With limited opportunities at The Robins, Cornick has now dropped down a division to continue his career while gaining valuable playing time.

Career at Bristol City

Cornick was originally brought to Bristol City under Nigel Pearson almost three years ago, following the departure of Antoine Semenyo to Bournemouth, alongside Anis Mehmeti. In his first half-season, he made 17 appearances and scored once, quickly becoming a reliable option under Pearson and later under Liam Manning during the 2023/24 campaign. His first full season saw him feature in 45 matches across all competitions, scoring twice and helping the Robins maintain a strong Championship presence.

However, last season brought fewer opportunities. As Bristol City secured a first play-off finish in nearly two decades, Cornick’s involvement dropped significantly, with just five appearances and his last goal coming in March 2024, a close-range finish in a 2-0 win over Millwall. Over the last few months, game time has remained limited, making the loan move a timely chance for him to rediscover regular football.

Stevenage’s Current Form and Ambitions

Under Alex Revell, Stevenage currently sit three points behind sixth-placed Huddersfield in League One, but with three games in hand. While the Boro have only won one of their last eight league matches, a couple of strong results could see them climb into the play-off places. Cornick’s arrival is expected to strengthen Stevenage’s attacking options and provide much-needed experience in the final third as the team targets a top-six finish.

What Cornick Brings to the Boro

Cornick becomes the latest Bristol City player to leave south Bristol on loan this winter, joining a list of squad members seeking game time elsewhere. For Stevenage, the forward offers tactical flexibility, the ability to play across the front line, and a proven track record in the Championship experience that could be vital during the run-in toward the play-offs.

Looking Ahead

The move also marks an important chapter in Cornick’s career, as his contract with Bristol City is set to expire at the end of the season. While his time at Ashton Gate will likely conclude this summer, the loan to Stevenage gives him a platform to maintain momentum and showcase his ability at a competitive level. Fans at the Lamex Stadium can now look forward to seeing the 30-year-old bring his experience, work ethic, and goal threat to the League One side’s promotion push.
