Burton Albion Reject Championship Bids For Striker

Burton Albion have turned down the bids as they look to maintain their current squad in the pursuit of success in League One.

Burton Albion have reportedly turned down three offers for 25-year-old striker Tyrese Shade, according to Pete O’Rourke, speaking on his X account.

It is also understood that one of the offers the club received would have been a club-record sale for the Brewers, which could have brought good funds into the club.

O’Rourke’s report following his earlier claim that Burton were receiving interest for the 25-year-old from a number of keen Championship clubs.

Shade has 11 goal contributions in all competitions this season and is the second Burton striker to attract interest in this window after bids for Jake Beesley were also turned down.

Burton will be keen to hold on to both players as they currently find themselves in 21st, deep in the League One relegation dog fight, and it is their strikers who are keeping them within the surface of the relegation places.

Shade has previously played for Solihull Moors, Swindon and Eastleigh, whom he left to join Burton Albion last summer.

There is no doubt that both Shade and Beesley are destined for bigger things, specifically if Burton do get relegated this season, but boss Gary Bowyer will be doing everything he can to maintain his firing duo as he endeavours to keep his side in the division.

Turning down a club-record fee highlights the ownership group’s intent and their willingness to keep hold of their biggest assets amid a relegation fight.

The chance of finding a replacement for a striker in the January window is extremely difficult, let alone in the last four hours of deadline day, so that could factor into the decision to reject bids for Shade.

Now, Albion fans may turn towards the club to see if they continue to reject bids and if they can maintain the services of Tyrese Shade over the course of the rest of today.
