Two Championship sides are set to battle it out for a Mali international, as the final week of the window sets up to be a battle.

According to Footy Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, both Coventry City and Middlesbrough FC are eyeing a move for Auxerre attacker, Lassine Sinayoko.
Back in December, it was revealed that Manchester United held interest in the player, but a move did not end up materialising.
In Ligue 1 this season, Sinayoko has registered six goals and two assists, with a transfer to England one to keep an eye on in the final week of the season.
Take a look below at the main talking points of the reported interest from Coventry and Middlesbrough.
Both Coventry and Middlesbrough look keen to add Sinayoko to their squads, with both clubs set to battle it out for the Malians signature.
Coventry and Middlesbrough have both been battling it out for the top spot in the Championship this season, and it is no surprise to see them face off against each other again.
With Sinayoko looking like he could be heading to England, there is one big question – where will he go?
Whilst Coventry may be able to lure him with the appeal of the top spot in the Championship, perhaps Boro could entice him with the appeal of hunting down the leaders with less pressure on his back, with the club only sitting three points off of Frank Lampard’s side.
Both Coventry and Middlesbrough will have to battle against Premier League strugglers, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Although this could provide Lassine Sinayoko with a chance to play in the Premier League immediately, Rob Edwards’ side will not be able to guarantee their Premier League status for next season, with the club sitting last in the league.
However, a move to Wolves this January could allow him to play Premier League football, and settle into his environment and prepare for next season- whether that is in the Championship or the Premier League.
“We want to bring in the people who want to be here and feel that they can really affect it, and we feel can affect it as well. But if we’re going to spend some money, it might be that we have to generate some of that as well,” said Wolves boss Rob Edwards about January incomings earlier on in the month.
Although reports have came out about interest from England, they come at a strange time with Sinayoko recently signing a new contract with Auxerre two days ago.
The forward has extended his stay with the club until 2027, with an extra year optional.
It leaves the transfer situation with a confusing undertone, as many fans are suspectant that Sinayoko could stay in France.
Only time will tell if Sinayoko will transfer to England, and it is definitely a transfer which should be monitored by football fans.
