Sources close to The Lower Tiers understand that Championship clubs Sheffield United, Bristol City and West Brom are interested in QPR forward Charlie Kelman.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at League One Leyton Orient scoring 23 goals in 40 starts. These goals earned Kelman the League One Golden Boot Award and for a player to achieve this at such a young age, it’s clear to see why he’s highly sought after.
Vital goals in the run-in and two against Stockport County in the League One Play-Off Semi-Final helped Orient to reach the final. The O’s narrowly lost out to Charlton as they just edged their London neighbours in a tight affair at Wembley.
After coming back from injury, April 2025 was the best period of his career to date. Six goals in five appearances saw him win the League One Player Of The Month award whilst firing Leyton Orient up the league table.
Charlie Kelman, the QPR loanee, is a striker who’s best known for his goal scoring ability. As made clear from the facts above. But he isn’t afraid to do the ‘dirty work’ to help the team. He’s rated so highly because of his incredible work ethic, willingness to press and hassling to regain possession for his side.
These are all important attributes for a modern day centre-forward which is why Sheffield United, West Brom and Bristol City are all interested in signing him.
However, he could prove costly. Queens Park Rangers obviously won’t want to lose him as they plan to integrate him with their first team next season.
QPR only scored 53 goals last term and they’ll have to resolve that if they are to achieve their goal of finishing inside of the Play-Off places.
Kelman is a huge asset for the Championship outfit now thanks to his breakthrough season at Leyton Orient but he isn’t yet proven in the second tier which could be a reason to cash in on him.
