The 21-year-old has played 14 games whilst on loan in Scotland with Kilmarnock. He gained an assist during that time and also played almost 1200 minutes for Killie.
His next loan move would be in League One with the Latics, he would play 31 times in the league for Wigan Athletic across two seasons returning to Liverpool in May 2025.
During this time he would get five assists and he also scored two goals during an impressive loan spell!
Speaking to the Charlton Athletic website, gaffer Nathan Jones was delighted:
“It’s no secret that we’ve been working hard to bring in a player that can come in and contribute on our left side, including at left wing-back, so I’m delighted that Luke has joined us.”
“He’s a talented, young, hungry player of real pedigree, having come through the Liverpool youth system and represented their first team, so I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Managing Director James Rodwell commented:
“Strengthening our options on the left side of our defence and at wing-back has been a key priority during this transfer window, and we’re delighted to welcome Luke, a player we’ve been monitoring for some time.
“He is technically excellent, athletic and a progressive passer. In addition, we would like to thank Liverpool for their cooperation in allowing Luke to join us. We’re looking forward to seeing him in a Charlton shirt.”
