Barrow have been linked with a move for a Salford City forward as the outfit looks to build their squad further in the window.
Barrow are one of the sides competing in League Two this season, as its 24 sides aim for success.
However, for the outfit, the 2025-26 season will arguably be focused on surviving for the rest of the season, given the team currently sit 19th in the league.
Arguably, one of the main reasons behind this is their defensive record with Barrow conceding 35 goals so far this season.
However, it is not the figure of these numbers that matters but instead the nature of them with Barrow losing games by one goal deficits eight times this season in League Two.
But, with the January window now open, the outfit may look to recruit defensively.
However, now, the side have been linked with a move for a Salford City striker, a move that can be said to be targeting their goal-scoring abilities.
According to Alan Nixon, speaking on his Patreon page, Barrow want to buy striker Cole Stockton from Salford.
Furthermore, the journalist has stated that Paul Gallagher’s side are prepared to spend on the experienced forward.
Stockton has made just 15 appearances in the league this season, and has scored one goal whilst assisting a further goal.
Meanwhile, the forward (formerly of Barrow), has made 62 appearances for the Ammies in his time at the club, and has scored 22 times across these appearances.
Furthermore, with Stockton being out of contract in the summer, Barrow may look to benefit and secure a lower fee or a free transfer in the summer.
Now, fans of both sides may look towards Salford to see if an update is provided on the future of Cole Stockton and whether a move to Barrow is likely or not.
However, fans may not receive this update until the pre-match press conference later next week ahead of Salford’s trip to Swindon Town.
