Bradford City lost 2-1 to Cardiff City on Saturday meaning the Bantams lost ground on the Bluebirds who are top of League One currently.

Bradford City lost to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon with the Bluebirds extending their good form in the league.

The game finished 2-1 with strikes from David Turnbull and Calum Chambers deciding the game despite a late fightback from the Bantams led by a goal from Jenson Metcalfe in the 59th minute.

As a result of the game, Cardiff are now nine points clear of Bradford with both sides having played 26 games.

Furthermore, the Bantams also lost ground on Lincoln City who are now three points clear of the West Yorkshire outfit following their 2-2 draw with Luton Town.

Now, the Bradford City players have been reacting to the game with defender Curtis Tilt expressing his frustration.

Speaking to Bradford’s media team, via the Club’s official website, Tilt stated: “It is a frustrating result to take.

“It was tough after they scored two early goals. They took control and we found it difficult to find a way through.

“In the second half, we really took the game to them. We managed to get one goal back thanks to Jenson Metcalfe’s great strike.”

Whilst frustration was at the centre of the defender’s comments, the former Salford City man also stated: “There are some positives we can definitely take.

“Cardiff are a great team, they are top of the league for a reason. In the second half, we took the game to them and were the side on the front foot.

“In the end, we were just a little unlucky. We have gone toe-to-toe with them twice and been a credit to ourselves both times.”

Now, Curtis Tilt and the rest of the Bradford City squad could turn their attention towards this weekend’s West Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield Town.

In the reverse fixture, Bradford won 3-1 following a brace from Bobby Pointon and a goal from Josh Neufville before a Zepiqueno Redmond consolation finish.

However, with Lee Grant no longer in the dugout as Huddersfield manager, the game could be different to the one played last September.
