Deji Elerewe

The Lower Tiers understands that Lincoln City have completed the signing of centre-back Deji Elerewe from Bromley for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has been a standout performer for the Ravens this season and was approaching the final months of his contract, alerting several League One clubs to his availability.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Bromley had accepted a bid from an unnamed League One side. However, The Lower Tiers can now disclose that Lincoln City are the club behind the move, acting decisively to get the deal over the line.

The Rise of Deji Elerewe

Elerewe’s rise has been rapid. Bromley made his move permanent in February 2024 after two successful loan spells from Charlton Athletic. During those spells, the defender made 18 league appearances and scored four goals, including a crucial winner away at Woking in the play-off eliminator.

Proven Pedigree and Promotion Experience

Elerewe made his professional debut for Charlton in the EFL Cup in 2021 and went on to feature five times in League One. He also gained senior experience during a loan spell with Wealdstone before becoming part of Bromley’s squad that achieved historic promotion to the EFL for the first time.

In League Two last season, he made 17 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists. This campaign, he has taken his game up another level, starting 19 matches, scoring two goals and registering four assists.

The Next Chapter

Lincoln City have secured a young, athletic defender with EFL know-how and clear room to grow. For Elerewe, it’s a deserved step back into League One — and for the Imps, a smart piece of business with an eye firmly on the future.

Following the Imps’ win over Burton last night, manager Michael Skubala hinted at a deal being really close to a new signing:

“We’re getting close,” he said when asked about incoming players. “We’re getting close to another incoming to add to what we want to do.

“We’re calm. We’re really calm because we’ve got some lads that we know are top players that are injured that are close to coming back. They will feel like new signings for the group as well.”

That man is Deji Elerewe as Lincoln look to strengthen in their bid for automatic promotion to the Championship.
