Tottenham Hotspur academy product Mikey Moore has reportedly attracted interest from
Championship sides Hull City, Birmingham City, and West Bromwich Albion.
The 17-year-old had a successful first season in the first team last campaign. This involved him making 19 appearances and making with one assist in all competitions.
After playing much of his career on the right side of the pitch, Ange
Postecoglou utilised Moore up top during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
This experience, combined with the English player’s potential, has seen
EFL Championship clubs enter the conversation for his services.
Why Do Each Side Want Moore?
Firstly, West Brom are looking to add attacking players throughout the summer window. This comes as the Hawthorns outfit look to increase the amount of goals they scored last season.
As well as this, Hull are also in the market for attackers, having lost loan stars Louie Barry and Lincoln Henrique. Newly appointed boss Sergej Jakirovic will be weary of how important it will be to add goals to his squad if they are to avoid another relegation scrap in the EFL Championship.
Finally, Birmingham are also among the clubs looking for attackers, having been promoted to the EFL Championship after winning the EFL League One title. Blues manager Chris Davies will know how crucial it is to add quality, depth, and goals to the squad in order to consolidate in the EFL Championship.
Not The First To Be Leaving…
The Englishman would not be the first academy product to depart Spurs this summer. This is because fellow academy product Damola Ajayi joined Doncaster Rovers on a season-
long loan from Spurs on Tuesday evening.
This arguably shows that newly appointed boss Thomas Frank is looking to free up space in his squad for the upcoming season.
Moore therefore may not have as much game time in the upcoming season as compared to the previous season under Postecoglou.
Therefore, in our opinion, a loan move would be suited for both parties as it will give Moore further development and experience in the EFL Championship.
As well as this, a loan deal would free up space for new transfers at Spurs. These new transfers are arguably crucial if the North London side are to improve in the 2025-26 season.
