MK Dons are hoping to push through a deal for Huddersfield Town midfielder Ben Wiles
MK Dons boss Paul Warne is attempting to rush through a deal for Huddersfield Town midfielder Ben Wiles in the coming days.
Warne worked with Wiles during both their time at Rotherham United and The Lower Tiers can exclusively reveal that Warne hopes to have the deal completed for Wiles to make his MK debut in Friday’s clash with Oxford United as the Dons look to overcome their Championship rivals.
This follows Football League World‘s report that MK Dons were in talks to sign the midfielder from Huddersfield.
Ben Wiles has over 90 appearances to his name at Huddersfield Town and is very much in the first team picture.
However, his most fruitful spell came for Rotherham United where he made over 150 outings, some of which were under Paul Warne and he could wish for a reunion with his former boss.
Money could play a factor as well with MK having Fahad Al Ghanim and his Kuwait consortium aiding their promotion push.
If Warne is thought of this highly by Wiles the could potential promotion sway his mind?
MK have flexed their muscles in the summer signing players such as Aaron Collins, Callum Paterson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing as they look for promotion to League One.
Despite already being in the third tier, could he see a better future at MK Dons.
This could be emphasised by the pressure that has been put on Huddersfield Town boss Lee Grant, prior to their recent run as the 42-year-old fought for his job.
Whilst MK have midfielders such as Dan Crowley, Liam Kelly and Jon Mellish, they have also been known to play striker Aaron Collins in that midfield role, following an injury to Will Collar.
If Wiles joins then it gives the chance for Collins to return to that role and Wiles to step into the midfield.
Would Ben Wiles be a good signing for MK? Let us know in the comments.
