Exeter City and Manchester City are set to meet in the FA Cup Third Round this weekend, as both sides look to progress.

Exeter City and Manchester City are due to face off in the FA Cup Third Round this weekend, as both sides look to progress into the fourth round.
The game will take place at the Etihad Stadium, with Exeter taking over 7800 fans up to Manchester for the fixture.
Heading into the game, Exeter have not lost in their last three and have won two of those fixtures. Meanwhile, Manchester City have not lost since late November against Bayern Leverkusen.
But, whilst some fans have been looking at form, others have been looking at what the Grecians could earn from the big day.
Under FA Cup rules, each side will receive 45% of the gate money (money from the tickets) for the game with the Football Association receiving the remaining 10%.
With this the case, Exeter are estimated to earn between £250,000 and £400,000 from the fixture, according to the BBC.
However, now, the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust has written to Manchester City, putting in a request surrounding gate money.
In a statement on their official website, the Trust stated that “the Club have written to Manchester City to ask whether they would consider voluntarily transferring a portion of their share of the matchday gate receipts to Exeter City.”
Meanwhile, the statements also states that “it would have a tangible impact on their finances and would stand as a strong statement of solidarity with sustainable, fan-owned football.”
Furthermore, with the cup game not to be shown on any TV channels, the Trust has said that the club has missed out on an opportunity to gain essential income, which could have had a major impact on financial figures.
Now, fans may look towards Manchester City to see if they respond to the message sent by Exeter to them and to see if their request is upheld or rejected.
