Sheffield United left back Harrison Burrows is currently being linked with a move away from Bramall Lane to Turkish side Trabzonspor.

They’ve already enquired on the left back with an offer £3.5 million however The Blades turned it down. Rumours say that the Turkish side are may be looking to offer the £5 million for him.

What Has Harrison Burrows Brought To Sheffield United?

In his debut season for the club Burrows brought versatility and an attacking threat down the left hand side with 5 goals and 3 assists and was one of the highest attacking creators in the league.

Burrows also played a couple games in the defensive midfield role where he still shined as a player. He almost gained the side promotion after 2 man of the match performances in the playoff semi-finals and coming so close to a fantastic goal in the final which was ruled out due to an unfair VAR call.

Burrows started his Career at Peterborough United breaking into the first team at a young age which you can read more about here.

Burrows made his move to Sheffield in the 24/25 season where he even got into the Championship team of the season after his impressive debut season for Sheffield United.

The left back has struggled for game time this season, often falling to the bench behind Sam McCallum.

In his last start which came against Stoke City on December 21st, The Blades were victorious with a 2-1 win.

In that match Burrows got an assist and Player of the match with an 8.7 Fotmob rating.

Burrows has attracted interest from many clubs over the years including clubs inside the Premier League however if he moves to Trabzonspor it could be a fantastic move and here’s why.

Why Do Trabzonspor Need Harrison Burrows?

Burrows would be a great signing for the Turkish side as he would add a great attacking threat, a set piece specialist and phenomenal free kick taker to their ranks.

Trabzonspor currently sit 3rd in the Super Lig 7 points off top side Galatasaray.

Burrows could bring the quality that they need for them to push for that top spot which would see Burrows competing in the Uefa Champions League.

Turkey is outside of mainstream English media which will create less pressure inside the players head, not only this if the club are willing to spend on him he’s surely guaranteed game time which he’s not currently getting.

He will also gain publicity if he performs in Turkey as a lot of La Liga and Bundesliga clubs like to look at performing players there meaning this move could put him into a league of greats in the future which could see him in and England shirt one day.

Burrows moving to Trabzonspor would also put him in a lineup alongside former Premier League goalkeeper Andre Onana and former Atletico Madrid Defender Stefan Savic.

Peterborough United will also get a healthy bonus from this move with their sell on clause in the agreement for Sheffield United to sign him.

Sheffield United fans seem to have mixed opinions with some begging for him to go and others complaining about the potential departure.

Fans are also saying that £5 million is not enough and should be closer to the £10 million mark.

Fotmob currently values him at £13 million so if that were the case Trabzonspor were very far off with their first offer.
