Hull City are reportedly ready to let defender Brandon Williams leave the club before the January transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.

The 25-year-old has struggled for game time since joining the Tigers, and sources suggest talks are underway for a potential move abroad.

For Williams, it could be the fresh start he needs, while Hull aim to free up squad space and wage flexibility mid-season.

Struggling for Game Time

Williams joined Hull in August 2025 on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United, where he made over 50 first-team appearances and was seen as a promising, versatile full-back.

However, his impact at the Tigers has been minimal. Fitness issues and fierce competition for defensive positions have limited him to just one appearance this season, leaving him largely on the sidelines under Sergej Jakirović.

The lack of minutes on the pitch is understood to be a key factor behind Hull’s willingness to consider an early exit. Allowing Williams to move on would not only give him the opportunity to play regularly elsewhere but also free up salary space that could be reinvested in other parts of the squad.

Overseas Switch on the Horizon

No club has been officially linked with Williams yet, but reports suggest an overseas transfer is being discussed. Whether it would be a loan or permanent deal remains unclear, but the move could provide the defender with a chance to restart his career in a new environment, away from the challenges he has faced in England.

With the transfer window closing at 7 pm on Monday, all eyes will be on Hull City to see whether they can secure a deal that works for both the club and Williams. If completed, it could mark a turning point for the defender while giving the Tigers added flexibility to adjust their squad in the middle of the season.
