Watford midfielder Imran Louza has reportedly handed in a transfer request, formally requesting permission to leave Vicarage Road this summer after interest from France in the early parts of pre-season, reports Sky Sports News.
The 26-year-old is said to have handed in his transfer request to Watford right at the beginning of pre-season preparations for next season after interest from a number of Ligue 1 sides has caught his attention, and not down to the fact of any problems with new manager Paulo Pezzolano.
How Are Watford Approaching Imran Louza‘s Transfer Request?
Sky Sports have said that the London Side are believed to be very relaxed at the transfer request from Imran Louza, with the Moroccan still having three years left on his contract, which could mean that The Hornets are able to get a reasonable fee if and when the 26-year-old departs London.
The transfer request could come across as a surprise to fans, with Louza enjoying a hugely successful campaign at Vicarage Road last season, but maybe the prospect of playing at a higher standard of football with a Ligue 1 outfit over in France could be what the 26-year-old midfielder prefers at this stage of his career.
What Are Watford’s Plans For Their Midfield Next Season?
With Louza now wanting to leave Vicarage Road, it can leave the question. How are Watford planning to reshape their midfield this summer?
New boss Paulo Pezzolano is believed to be looking for a more dynamic, athletic midfield trio next year, which shows that The Hornets aren’t overly stressed about losing Louza this transfer window.
With the incoming of Hector Kyprianou from Peterborough on a free transfer already complete, it only leaves Watford looking for another two midfielders, both from options already in at Vicarage Road and out on the market.
It is going to be heavily interesting to see what kinds of player Pezzolano’s side look for, as quality additions in the middle of the park are hard to come by at the Championship level.
