Ipswich Town extended their unbeaten run to four matches but were left frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Leicester City at Portman Road.
Patson Daka’s first‑half strike put the Foxes ahead before Sindre Walle Egeli’s composed finish earned the Blues a deserved point.
Despite late pressure, a winner proved elusive.
Kieran McKenna made five changes from the midweek win over Hull City, reverting to the same XI that beat Swansea
Ipswich Town XI (4-2-3-1): Christian Walton; Darnell Furlong, Dara O’Shea, Cedric Kipré, Leif Davis; Azor Matusiwa, Dan Neil (Jack Clarke 60′); Wes Burns (Sindre Walle Egeli 69′), Marcelino Núñez (Jack Taylor 84′), Anis Mehmeti (Chuba Akpom 84′); Ivan Azón (George Hirst 69′)
Leicester XI (4-2-3-1): Jakub Stolarczyk; Ricardo Pereira (Hamza Choudhury 83′), Caleb Okoli, Ben Nelson, Luke Thomas; Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp; Abdul Fatawu (Joe Aribo 90′), Bobby De Cordova-Reid (Wanya Marçal-Madivadua Mukasa 71′), Stephy Mavididi (Jordan James 70′); Patson Daka (Jordan Ayew 83′)
Ipswich began brightly, pushing Leicester back early as Davis and Neil combined to release Mehmeti, only for Okoli to intervene. But the early spark faded quickly, replaced by sloppy touches and unforced errors that repeatedly halted Town’s momentum.
Walton was forced into a strong save from Skipp after a loose Neil touch, while Mavididi drifted inside to fire wide as Leicester grew in confidence. Ipswich’s best moment came when Núñez’s corner found O’Shea, whose downward header struck the post.
The breakthrough arrived for the visitors in 39 minutes. A soft foul by Matusiwa allowed Thomas to whip in a free-kick, which Kipré misjudged, leaving Daka free to sweep a low finish into the bottom corner.
Mehmeti had a chance to level before the interval, but his tame effort summed up a frustrating half for the hosts.
Ipswich came out with renewed aggression. Azón pressured Stolarczyk into hesitation before being bundled over by Okoli.
But referee John Busby waved play on the first of several contentious decisions that infuriated the home crowd. Moments later, Mehmeti appeared to be shoved by Winks in the box, but again, nothing was given.
Town dominated territory but struggled to break Leicester’s compact shape. Núñez fired wide from distance before McKenna introduced Clarke, followed by Hirst and Walle Egeli, in search of a spark.
The equaliser finally arrived in the 76th minute. Clarke’s looping cross caused chaos, Furlong nodded the loose ball into Mehmeti’s path, and his shot was parried into the path of Walle Egeli. The Norwegian steadied himself and fired in at the near post to lift Portman Road.
Ipswich pushed for a winner, with Akpom twice going close and O’Shea heading over from a late corner. Deep into stoppage time, Kipré appeared to be caught by Choudhury, sparking a post‑whistle scuffle, but no penalty was forthcoming.
Town drop to fourth, though they still hold a game in hand.
