Coventry, Swansea and Sheffield United chasing Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

According to Darren Chester on X, multiple clubs are chasing the signature of Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on a permanent deal, being Championship sides Coventry City, Swansea City and Sheffield United, who he spent last campaign on loan at during their playoff campaign.

After multiple loan spells away, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is still unable to break into the Premier League side’s first team squad and is looking for a permanent move away from the London club after just 10 appearances for Crystal Palace during his five-year tenure with them.

Sheffield United are on the hunt for new attacking threat, as they have struggled in their opening four gamed, as they currently sit bottom of the table, whereas Coventry City who are also interested, are the complete opposite, being the top scorers in the Championship by a six-goal margin. Swansea have also started brightly but could do with some depth in the wing areas, and to add competition for Ronald Pereira and Zeidane Inoussa.

Reportedly, Scottish giants Rangers also put in a bid for him around the £10,000,000 mark, but that offer was rejected, and they are yet to make a returning offer for the 22-year-old. These three clubs mentioned at the start of this article, as well as Rangers all reportedly remain strongly linked this deadline day to bring Jesurun Rak-Sakyi to a permanent home.

Thus far this campaign, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has featured as an unused substitute on two occasions for Crystal Palace, one coming in the home leg of the Conference League Qualifier against Norwegian side Fredrikstad and the other against Chelsea on the opening Premier League weekend.

Rak-Sakyi began his career in Chelsea’s academy, before making the switch from West to South London, where he finds himself currently, after two successful loan spells away. His first loan was at fellow South London side Charlton Athletic in League One during the 2023/24, where he performed immensely, scoring 15 and assisting 9 goals in his opening campaign of first team professional football.

Last campaign, he spent the season on loan at Sheffield United as they reached the playoff final before their loss at Wembley to Sunderland, with Rak-Sakyi making cameos in 36 separate games, contributing 7 goals and 2 assists during this period.
