Birmingham City Among Several Championship Sides Rejected By Star Striker

Birmingham City have been turned down by the striker amid speculation about the possibility of him signing for the club.

Birmingham City are preparing for this weekend’s clash with Stoke City following their victory at Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening.

The Bluenoses, who have been striving to achieve success in the Championship following promotion last season, are 13th following their first 28 league games of the season.

Meanwhile, with the January transfer window slowly coming to a close, City have been linked with new names that could help them in their pursuit of a higher finish.

One player the outfit have been linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jeremy Sarmiento with a deal already agreed between Brighton and Birmingham making the possibility of a deal higher.

As well as this, Birmingham have signed August Priske with him stating: “I said for the last couple of months that, to me, the really interesting part is finding a good project to be a part of and something where I feel like I can develop, and a club who also can take steps.”

“And I feel like I’ve found something really great here with Birmingham – a great city, great fans, and a lot of exciting things for the future, so it was kind of a no-brainer.”

However, now, it appears that the Bluenoses have been rejected with Joel Piroe rejecting the outfit according to Dutch outlet Voetbal International.

Furthermore, Piroe has turned down Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Southampton, and Stoke according to the source.

What Makes Joel Piroe So Good?

Joel Piroe has excelled for Leeds United, both at Premier League and Championship level with the striker scoring 33 times in 109 appearances for Leeds.

Meanwhile, the striker had previously been at Championship outfit Swansea City and PSV.

However, with the striker now rejecting Birmingham, it appears that he will stay at Leeds for the closing months of the season.

Now, City supporters may look towards other frontmen such as Priske to supply goals for the Bluenoses in their final 19 league games of the campaign.
