The Lower Tiers understands that several League One and Scottish Premiership clubs pushing to secure his signature from Everton until the end of the season. Sources have told us that Martin Sherif is fast becoming one of the most in-demand young strikers on the League One loan market.

The 19-year-old forward recently returned to Goodison Park after being recalled from Rotherham United, where he made a strong impression despite limited opportunities. Sherif found the net twice in just four League One starts for the Millers — a notable return in a struggling side — underlining his ability to deliver in difficult circumstances. Those performances have only intensified interest from clubs seeking a reliable goal threat for the second half of the campaign.

Everton, meanwhile, remain highly encouraged by Sherif’s overall development. Although first-team minutes have been scarce, the club believes the striker possesses significant long-term potential and views his recent progress as a positive step in his transition to senior football. A carefully chosen loan is seen as key to accelerating his growth.

About Martin Sherif

Sherif joined Everton’s academy in 2019 after impressing in the Netherlands with Almere City, and he has steadily risen through the club’s youth system. His record at under-18 and under-21 level — 28 goals across 69 appearances — has marked him out as a natural finisher with physical presence and intelligent movement in the final third. His form also earned him international recognition with the Netherlands at under-17 level in 2023.

Behind the scenes, Everton staff have played an important role in his development, helping refine both his link-up play and his composure in front of goal. Training alongside senior players has further sharpened his all-round game.

The Next Loan

With League One and Scottish Premiership sides now battling to complete a deal before the window closes, Sherif faces a pivotal decision. Regular football appears the priority — and wherever he lands, there is a growing sense that goals will follow.
