The Lower Tiers understands that Liam Manning is set to replace Lee Grant as Huddersfield Town manager.
Manning, who had been at Norwich City earlier this season before being sacked in November 2025, is coming off the back of a largely unsuccessful spell with the Canaries having only picked up an average of 0.6 points per game across his 17-game spell.
Meanwhile, prior to his spell at Norwich, Manning had been at Bristol City. During this spell, in the 2024-25 season, he was able to guide the side to a play-off finish in the Championship.
But, he did not get promoted with Bristol City following a defeat to Sheffield United on aggregate in the semi-final across two legs.
Manning also has experience with Championship side Oxford United and League Two outfit Milton Keynes Dons whilst having also managed Lommel between 2020 and 2021.
Huddersfield, the side Manning will come into manage, have had a mixed 2025-26 season in League One. On one hand, the Terriers are currently sixth in the league and have won eleven games.
However, on the other hand, the outfit have won just once in their last five games and have also lost ten times whilst also winning just three of their last 12 games, with these results leading to the sacking of Lee Grant as Huddersfield boss.
Furthermore, with a total of 39 points as it stands, Town are ten points away from second placed Lincoln City (49 points) and are 16 points away from Cardiff City (55 points), who are top of League One currently.
But, with Liam Manning now coming into manage the Terriers, the side could look to close that gap in the coming weeks and months as the season slowly comes to a close.
Meanwhile, if Huddersfield Town can close the gap of ten points, they may be able to either secure a strong play-off finish or steal one of the automatic promotion places.
However, the possibility of this happening will be dependent on how successful Manning can make Huddersfield and how he will act in guiding them as the coming weeks approach.
