EFL League One side Bradford City confirmed the signing of midfielder Louie Sibley on Friday afternoon.

This follows Graham Alexander confirming that the Bantams were set to announce a loan signing after the match against Mansfield Town.

The signing also follows the 24-year-old’s loan spell at Rotherham United in the 24/25 campaign.

Now, it is most likely that the former Derby County man will play in a starting role due to him being on loan from EFL Championship side Oxford United.

Therefore, this piece outlines a couple of things that Bradford and League One fans could see from Sibley.

Things Louie Sibley Will Bring To Bradford City

A Clear Playmaking Ability

In signing the 24-year-old, the University of Bradford Stadium outfit is gaining a player who possesses a clear playmaking ability.

This judgment comes because the midfielder has assisted multiple times in previous seasons, especially during his time at Derby County.

During his loan spell at Rotherham United, his statistics show that he had a 74.8% successful pass rate and a 47.1% accurate long ball rate.

Furthermore, Sibley had 30 touches in opposition boxes during his loan spell at Rotherham.

These statistics show the playmaking ability that the 24-year-old holds and the pressure that he puts on oppositions.

This could be especially useful during crossing situations and scenarios where the ball is played to him, which are common features of the Bradford gameplay.

Furthermore, it can be seen through the fact that City, so far this season, have a 23.3% cross success rate and a 35% successful long ball rate.

Experience

Through the Englishman’s career, we can see that the midfielder has a wealth of experience, which you can see in his gameplay.

During his time in EFL League One, he was able to make 118 appearances, which include his time at Derby County and Rotherham United.

Furthermore, at the start of last season, prior to joining Rotherham, he was able to make 14 appearances, net one goal and pick up an assist for Oxford in the Championship.

Is Louie Sibley A Good Fit For Bradford City?

With these factors being considered, Sibley is a great addition for the Bantams as they look to cement their place in the promotion spots and potentially gain promotion to the Championship.
