Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to loan out defender Eiran Cashin who was most recently at Derby County – his home from 2021 to 2025. Here are 4 clubs that the defender could join this summer ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Derby County
The 23-year-old spent his whole career, up until his move to the Seagulls, at the Rams, and given his love for the club I really wouldn’t rule it out. The Central Defender played 144 times after breaking through from the academy at the midlands outfit even scoring 6 times and quickly becoming a fan favorite for Derby. Quite unlike his departure Derby look like they’re in a more stable place after managing to survive on the final day, despite this Cashin wouldn’t be playing under his former derby boss as Paul Warne (who Cashin spent 3 years playing under) faced the sack shortly after the departure of Cashin. Derby county need more strength in the defender department and Eiran Cashin would be a wonderful addition that I’m sure many fans will welcome with open arms.
Sheffield United
The blades have had a busy couple of weeks and have their work cut out for them if they want to reach their aim under new boss Ruben Selles. Sheffield United certainly need to improve their defence as since the loanees have left their defence looks as threadbare as ever, and Cashin would be an incredible way to fill that hole. The young centre-back gives everything for whatever club he plays for, and his aggressive tackling style is what makes him so attractive as a player. He is exactly the player Sheffield United need if they are to be competitive this season and I personally think he’d be an amazing fit for the Blades.
Swansea City
This might be a more rogue choice, but it can be said that Swansea and Cashin are a perfect fit as the Welsh side are looking to build a very strong defence and they’ve shown that by acquiring Cameron Burgess from Ipswich town. They’re already showing signs of having a very good campaign, and the signing of Eiran Cashin could only propel them forwards. It’s a move that would also really help with the development of Eiran Cashin; it really suits both sides.
RC Strasbourg
A move abroad is certainly on the cards for the Irishman and where better than Strasbourg. This move could work out as if Cashin were to join he’d be reuniting under his former assistant manager in his breakthrough season and his manager for a short while in the 2022/23 season in Liam Rosenior. Also, RC Strasbourg have managed to revive the career of one failed premier league center-back in Andrew Omabamidele who’s reportedly penned a 4 deal at the French club so what’s to say they can’t repeat their fortune with Cashin.
