League Two side Notts County are looking to add a third new face of the January transfer window.
County have already added Beck-Ray Enoru and Luke Browne to their ranks.
The Magpies have now also identified Harrogate Town goalkeeper James Belshaw as their next signing, according to Harrogate Advertiser.
35-year-old Belshaw has been with Town for most of his career, making over 200 appearances across two different stints with the Yorkshire club.
The keeper may struggle to turn down a move to County as he has supported the club his whole life and even started his youth career with the Magpies.
In Belshaw, County would be receiving a promotion winning goalkeeper, as the experienced stopper helped Harrogate to the Conference North title in 2018.
He would then go on to sign a new deal with the club, before earning promotion to the Football League in 2020, via the play-offs.
In just over 500 games across his career, James Belshaw has more than proved himself gaining over 130 clean sheets, despite often being in a ‘struggling’ side.
His shot stopping and playing out from the back have helped to hone his standing as a reliable keeper that the team can trust.
Belshaw has been a stalwart for Harrogate Town during his two spells with the club and has more than proved himself as a dependable pair of hands.
With Notts County being the club he has supported all his life, he surely wouldn’t leave for anyone else.
At 35-years-old this could be the last chance that James Belshaw has to re-join the club that he supports.
At the same time, however, he has more than made a home in that Harrogate Town goal.
Belshaw was, however, left out of the team for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra which will only add fuel to the fire. Mark Oxley deputised.
The transfer is expected to be announced on Monday, according to Town manager Simon Weaver via Harrogate Advertiser.
