Oxford United Target Premier League Winger

Oxford United are targeting a young Premier League winger, possibly on loan, but a permanent deal is also a possibility.

Oxford United

Managerless Oxford United have set their sights on Brentford attacker Myles Peart-Harris, with the Championship club seeking a loan for the 23-year-old.

With the winger having only 6 months left on his deal though could we see a permanent deal potentially?

Could The Will Still Effect Bring Him To Oxford United?

Despite being managerless, Oxford United are expected within the next few days to appoint former Southampton manager Will Still.

It is hoped that the Englishman can keep them in the Championship as the U’s struggle to retain their place in the second tier.

Still has been out of work since the Saints replaced him with Tonda Eckert.

The 33-year-old likes to play a 4-2-3-1 with the wingers and the number 10 supporting the main striker and this system would suit Peart-Harris game.

Could Peart-Harris Be The Number 10 At The Kassam Stadium?

Oxford United tend to play Filip Krastev and Luke Harris in the number 10 role but both can also play deeper if required. Tyler Goodrham has also slotted in before now.

With Siriki Dembele, Stanley Mills, Goodrham and Pyzemyslaw Placheta also being able to interchange in that front four, Peart Harris could offer fresh competition?

Could Other Loan Spells Help Peart-Harris To Adapt To The Championship?

Myles Peart-Harris has had several loans across both League One and the Championship.

The 23-year-old has appeared for Swansea City, where he made over 25 appearances last season for the Welsh side.

He also has over 50 appearances in League One for Portsmouth and Forest Green Rovers.

What Would Peart-Harris Signing Bring To Oxford United?

The 23-year-old is a trciky winger who would get at full-back’s whilst also trying to contribute with goals and assists.

Peart-Harris has been on the books at both Brentford and Chelsea.

He has also appeared for England at youth level, cementing his credentials as a solid signing for Oxford United.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments and if MPH would be a good fit for the U’s.
