Pemi Aderoju has signed a new long-term contract with Peterborough United, the club revealed on X.
The 21-year-old striker scored his first goal for Posh in the 6-1 win over Wigan Athletic and has made regular appearances from the bench.
Aderoju started in non-league football, playing for Kempston Rovers and Biggleswade before joining Peterborough in 2024.
Pemi Aderoju is a strong, physical forward, in the style of former Posh striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, and he provides something different to the smaller and pacier Harry Leonard.
Like Clarke-Harris, he is a prolific finisher. He scored 12 goals in as many games for Biggleswade, showing that his successful spell at Eastbourne isn’t a one-off.
His best game for Eastbourne was in a 6-0 win over Hampton & Richmond Borough. He scored four of the six goals, and put in good defensive work, making a clearance and winning five of his nine aerial duels.
If he has one weakness, it is his link-up play – he has no assists this season, so that might be an area Posh manager Luke Williams looks to improve.
The challenge for Aderoju will be to replicate his non-league form in League One.

Aderoju paid tribute to the Posh management team, telling theposh.com:
“A lot of hard work has gone into getting where I am today and the manager, his assistant, Barry Fry and Darragh MacAnthony have showed a lot of faith in me and now it is about taking the opportunity I have been given.
“Since I have been back at the club, I have really enjoyed working with the management team and the coaches. They have helped me and I have tried to learn and improve all facets of my game.
“I want to continue to improve and develop over the next few years and hopefully build on what I have managed to do in my time at the club and out on-loan with Boston United and Eastbourne.”
In the same interview, Williams revealed his delight at the news.
“Pemi has showed a lot of promise in the Under-21s and on-loan at Eastbourne and he has shown us some glimpses in the first team so we have high expectations for him and are delighted he has signed a new contract.
I think he has a good role model in terms of Harry Leonard, he is forging his way in the game too and has made a strong impact at the level so that will give Pemi some really valuable examples to follow.”
