Plymouth Argyle

The Jamaican will join Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season, when his contract with Millwall concludes.

What Wes Harding offers Plymouth Argyle?

In Harding, Plymouth are gaining a versatile and experienced defender at Championship and League One level.

Wes Harding’s career started at Birmingham.

Harding made 59 appearances with the Blues, earning three assists in this time.

In 20/21, Harding joined Rotherham, where a large share of Harding’s experience came from.

The Jamaican made 145 appearances for The Millers, with 2 goals and 11 assists.

It was after this where Millwall would make the signing of Wes Harding back in 23/24.

Wes made 45 appearances for the Lions, scoring 4 times, most notably a goal against fierce rivals Crystal Palace.

Playtime at Millwall has been limited recently for Harding, with just 8 appearances in the Championship this season.

Despite the lack of games at Millwall, Harding has featured in 177 Championship games throughout his career.

The defender has fallen down the pecking order at Millwall, with The Lions recruiting defenders like Caleb Taylor.

Harding’s opportunities at The Den have been rare and makes Plymouth an attractive option.

Despite the lack of minutes, Harding is known to be a big character in the dressing room.

At the age of 29, Wes Harding has played just under 250 games across all competitions.

So this looks to be savvy business from Plymouth.

With the Jamaican out of contract at the end of the season, this gives Harding a chance to showcase what he could offer and potentially earn himself a permanent contract at Plymouth or beyond upon the conclusion of his contract with Millwall.
