Javi Gracia To Leave Watford?

Javi Gracia has created speculation with his latest comments.

Watford

Javi Gracia hopes for talks with Owner Gino Pozzo “ASAP”.

This news comes after Watford’s 2-0 home loss to Swansea City, with the Hornets without a win since New Year’s Day against Birmingham.

Gracia’s Comments

Speaking to the media after the match, Gracia called for a meeting with the club’s hierarchy after disappointment in his side’s performance.

“I want to know how they feel because I’m disappointed with the level of the team and maybe the future of the team.”

“I want to speak about the ambition of everything. What they expect for the future.”

“We have to know where we are going”

When asked if he felt let down, he replied, “yes”

“The last result’s it speaks about the team now”

“There are some moments in the game where we compete well, but we are not enough consistent”.

Is Javi Gracia Under Pressure?

The Spaniard only came in this October after the sacking of Paulo Pezzolano, and managed to steady the ship with only three losses in our last 16 matches.

Fans did question his re-appointment as a fan engagement scheme to try and bring the supporters back closer to the owner; however, with four wins out of four towards the end of December, things were starting to look good again, sitting inside the play-offs.

However, recent result’s of recent haven’t been good enough, with two 1-1 draws against bottom-half Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers and a 2-0 defeat to Swansea City today.

The lack of team spirit shown in recent weeks is disappointing after a good run, and with Gracia’s comments and Gino Pozzo’s revolving door of managers could be sooner than we expected.
