Preston North End

Founded in 1880 and based at Deepdale in Lancashire, Preston North End — nicknamed “The Lilywhites” — were one of the 12 founding members of the Football League in 1888. They made history in the 1888‑89 season by becoming the first league champions and winning the FA Cup without conceding a goal, earning the title “The Invincibles.” Deepdale is recognised as the oldest continuously used professional league ground in the world. The club has lifted the FA Cup twice (1889, 1938).
