Watford and Preston North End played out a 2-2 draw at Deepdale, with both sides feeling unlucky not to take all three points.

Watford fought back in the second half against Preston North End to take a 1-2 lead before Milutin Osmajic came on and got the leveller to see both sides go home with a point.
The Hornets dominated the shot count with 20 to Preston’s 8, and really should have held on to secure all three points at Deepdale.
After struggling for minutes under Javi Gracia, Edward Still allowed Baah to come on and try to make a difference, replacing Giorgi Chakvetadze at halftime.
The winger was highly influential when coming onto the pitch, with two out of four successful dribbles and worked well with his fullback, James Abankwah, down the right-hand side.
The Englishman played a part in the buildup to the first goal when Othmane Maamma slotted home, before a great burst of pace from Baah and a good low ball in saw Offiah put the ball into his own net.
Edoardo Bove has not played since suffering a cardiac arrest in a match for Fiorentina against Inter Milan in December 2024.
Due to Italian football regulations, the Italian could no longer play in Italy, which led to his Roma contract being terminated and his move to Watford on a free transfer.
The midfielder came on in the 86th minute, and despite not touching the ball often in that time, he received a very warm welcome from the travelling Hornets fans in the away end.
Bove was also seen hugging his family post-match, showing what the return to football meant for himself and his family.
Watford really didn’t show any sign of promise in the first half, with the only chance coming 33 minutes in, where Kjerumgaard had his header clawed out by David Cornell.
The Hornets allowed Preston to attack them early on, with Saba Goglichidze and Mattie Pollock making key blocks, before Lewis Dobbin had a simple finish to put Preston ahead.
Watford were looking to respond, however never really did, with Preston continuing to cause the Hornets problems. The hosts managed an XG of 0.25 to Watford’s 0.17 in the first half.
However, the Hornets did well to respond in the second half as they didn’t look like they were coming back into the game, thanks to goals from Othmane Maamma and Odel Offiah’s own goal.
Watford will be back in action next Saturday, where they are set to host Derby County at Vicarage Road in another crucial match for their play-off hopes
