Founded in 1867 and based at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield since 1899, Sheffield Wednesday — nicknamed “The Owls” — are one of England’s most historically successful clubs. They’ve won four First Division titles and three FA Cups, and also claimed the League Cup in 1991. The club was also a founding member of the Premier League in 1992 and competed in Europe on several occasions, including a quarter‑final run in the Inter‑Cities Fairs Cup in 1963.
