Stoke City have announced the signing of a 22-year-old striker from Go Ahead Eagles as the club prepare for a promotion push.

Stoke City have confirmed the ambitious signing of Dutch striker, Milan Smit, on loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to buy in the summer.
Take a look below at all the details as Stoke City prepare for a promotion push.
Milan Smit has arrived to the Bet 365 Stadium with one aspiration- Premier League football.
“The team’s style of play fits me and the club share my ambition to one day play in the Premier League, so it’s going to be really good for me,” Smit told the Stoke City club website as he looks to create some magic in red and white.
The Stoke fans must already love Smit’s attitude to secure promotion this season, as Mark Robins’ side sit two points off of a playoff spot.
Stoke are in need of a bagsman, and they may have found that as Smit told the club, “I’m a finisher, so my aim is to score goals and, when we have the ball, work hard; when we don’t have the ball, work hard. That’s the way I will play.”
Smit has been on the radar in Stoke since the summer, with the Potters failing to materialise a move at the start of the season.
Smit has obviously caught the eye of Stoke during this season, as he featured in the Europa League multiple times for his parent club Go Ahead Eagles.
“We were tracking Milan’s progress going into the summer, and with his continued form in the Dutch Eredivisie and the Europa League, the interest in him has always remained,“ told Stoke’s sporting director.
Milan Smit has been involved in 18 direct goal contributions in 31 starts for Go Ahead Eagles, proving to be a valuable asset for the Eredevisie side.
Mark Robins would have wanted a striker who can score and be involved in goals, and Smit fits that profile like a glove.
Smit is a reliable goalscorer, he scored 28 goals in 63 appearances for Cambuur before joining Go Ahead Eagles.
Smit will look to make an immediate impact for the Potters, as they host Southampton on Saturday at midday.
