Championship side Swansea City are closing in on a Finnish international midfielder, as the transfer window closing gets nearer

Championship side Swansea City have already been busy this transfer window, adding two new faces in defender Joel Ward and winger Gustavo Nunes.
Ward joined from the free agents market, having previously been with Crystal Palace, whilst Nunes arrived on loan from fellow Premier League outfit Brentford.
Ward has already played twice, being an unused substitute in the third game. Brazilian Nunes, meanwhile, made his debut in last weekend’s defeat to Hull City.
Sirius midfielder Leo Walta is the next target for the Swans, with both clubs open to thrashing a deal out, according to Wales Online.
22-year-old Walta has appeared for Klubi 04, Nordsjaelland, HB Koge and Mjallby, prior to joining Sirius. Since joining the club in 2024, the Finn has made over 50 appearances for the club, scoring over 20 goas in that time.
With the Swans just seven points off the drop zone, they are looking to strengthen with real quality and in the 22-year-old they believe they have found that.
Zan Vipotnik is the club’s highest scorer with 13 goals, the closes to him in terms of goals is three. Vitor Matos’ team will be looking to arrest their poor away form on Saturday at Watford, although it is unlikely Walta will be signed in time to play. The Swans have won just three times this season on the road.
Leo Walta has appeared internationally for Finland, at under 21 level and below and is slowly making his mark in the senior team, making 10 appearances. He has also scored seven goals internationally.
With Swansea City needing that sort of quality, Walta is exactly the type of signing that the South Wales side require as they look to climb the Championship table.
