EXCLUSIVE: Notts County Exploring Move For Sylvester Jasper

The Lower Tiers have been told that Notts County are weighing up a move for Śląsk Wrocław winger Sylvester Jasper, but the Magpies would face stiff competition from clubs in Europe if they choose to push ahead. With his contract expiring next summer, it would take a transfer fee to bring Jasper back to English football.

Last year, rumours suggested that League One rivals Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers were showing interest in the 23-year-old.

Jasper has quickly established himself in Poland’s top flight since his move last October, making 19 Ekstraklasa appearances for Śląsk Wrocław in the 2024/25 campaign and contributing two assists, according to club reports. Versatile and direct, he has been deployed primarily on the left flank, helping his side stave off relegation battles and showcasing the pace and trickery that caught the eye of scouts across Europe.

Born on 13 September 2001 in Southwark, London, Jasper holds dual English and Bulgarian citizenship and has represented both nations at youth level. Standing at 1.75 m, he combines a low center of gravity with a willingness to take on defenders, traits honed during his formative years in the Queens Park Rangers academy before a move to Fulham’s youth setup in 2012.

During his 11 years at Fulham, Jasper gained valuable experience through loan spells at Colchester United, Hibernian and Bristol Rovers, meaning he is no stranger to the rigours of English football. In League Two with Colchester he made 18 league appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists, while in League One he featured six times for Bristol Rovers and made nine Scottish Premiership appearances for Hibernian.

After being released by Fulham in the summer of 2023, Jasper joined Primeira Liga side Portimonense, where he impressed by scoring two goals and registering two assists in 24 appearances in Liga Portugal (Portuguese first division) .

His performances in Portugal convinced Śląsk Wrocław to secure his signature on a two-year deal in October 2024, with an option to extend until June 2027

About Sylvester Jasper

Sylvester Alexander Jasper is a 23-year-old left winger currently plying his trade for Śląsk Wrocław in Poland’s Ekstraklasa. Born in London to a Nigerian father and Bulgarian mother, he represented England at U15 and U16 level before switching to Bulgaria’s U21s in 2021. A product of QPR’s and Fulham’s academies, he gained senior experience on loan in England and Scotland before moving to Portugal in 2023.

Jasper is known for his direct dribbling, low center of gravity and ability to deliver key passes in the final third. His current contract with Śląsk runs until June 2026, meaning any interested club—including Notts County—would need to agree a transfer fee to secure his services.
