The Owls look to strengthen their attacking options, approaching Aston Villa for their highly rated U21 Scottish striker.

Rory Wilson is attracting interest from the Championship side, along with League One interest from Stevenage and Wycombe.
The young forward is highly respected, with German side Hoffenheim offering a loan with option to buy Wilson for £6M.
The Scot-born striker started his career in the Youth Academy of Scottish Giants Rangers.
In 8 years within the Rangers academy, Wilson made a name for himself.
The 21/22 season was the biggest highlight, bagging 49 goals in one season.
This led to him earning a callup to Rangers “B” team.
This form did not go unnoticed, and eventually Aston Villa agreed a fee of £350k not including add ons.
Since joining Villa in 2022, the striker has hit immense form.
The Scot international at youth level has scored 44 goals in just 67 appearances across Villa’s U18’s, U19 and U21 sides.
This highlights why the likes of third place Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, are targeting Wilson.
Villa however are more keen on loaning the striker out on a straight loan.
In complete transparency, for Wednesday the absolute number one priority is to get bodies through the door where possible.
The Owls have suffered during the January window, losing Barry Bannan already and looking likely to lose Bailey Cadamarteri as well.
With Cadamarteri on the way out, Wilson would essentially replace the Jamaican striker.
For Sheffield Wednesday, this is a deal that represents sense both short and long term.
Short term, Wednesday may find goals through the young Scot.
Long term, this could help strengthen relations between Wednesday and Villa for future loans in seasons ahead.
For Wednesday, or Stevenage and Wycombe for that matter, the young Scot has plenty of potential and a loan away in the EFL could highlight that promise at senior level.
