West Brom boss Eric Ramsay is interested in one of his former players, as he looks to get Albion away from the drop zone.

According to Honduran publication Diez, West Bromwich Albion are interested in fullback Joseph Rosales. The Championship side’s manager Eric Ramsay understood to be a key driving force behind the potential transfer pursuit.
Ramsay is said to be keen on linking back up with the Honduran international, whom he managed at Minnesota United.
According to reports from Central America, the interest in Rosales is not random — it stems directly from Eric Ramsay’s familiarity with the player.
As mentioned, Eric Ramsay coached Rosales at Minnesota United, where the Honduran featured regularly.
That personal connection could be key. New managers often look to trusted players when joining clubs mid-season, particularly in situations where rapid improvement is needed.
According to Diez journalist Gustavo Roca, Ramsay has “explicitly requested” that the Hawthorns club move for the 25-year-old.
Reports also suggest Rosales’ contract with Austin FC includes a release clause which West Brom will of course have to meet to get their man.
West Brom’s form this season has been under scrutiny, and Eric Ramsay’s early tenure has continued in this vain. The Baggies are struggling to avoid the drop.
Picking up only a point since his appointment, the Baggies now sit only 3 points off the drop zone.
With a relegation 6-pointer against fellow strugglers Portsmouth looming, the Black Country club will be keen to bolster its squad.
Amid that backdrop, this link adds a tactical layer to Albion’s January strategy. Bringing in players with whom Ramsay has existing trust.
This could help stabilise performances and give the squad a clearer identity under his direction.
Whether the move materialises remains to be seen. Clearly, West Brom are looking to shore up their back line before the transfer window slams shut.
