According to Alan Nixon, Bradford City are eyeing Fleetwood Town striker Ryan Graydon in a January move.
Graydon, 26, has played his football at Fleetwood Town so far this season, where he has been able to score seven goals and assist on three occasions.
Since joining the Cod Army in 2023, the Irishman has so far made 96 appearances. During this time, he has been able to net 34 times.
A Crucial January Window For Bradford City
If Graydon joins Bradford in the crucial January transfer window. The striker may potentially be one of the early signings within the Bantams’ transfer window.
The University of Bradford stadium outfit will be aiming to improve and solidify their current 2nd place spot and potentially hunt for promotion to the EFL Championship.
So far this campaign, the Bantams have been able to score 28 goals, which places them 5th in the goals scored ranking.
The potential addition of Graydon, who has experience in League Two and One, will add firepower to Alexander’s side’s attacking frontline.
What Qualities Does Graydon Bring?
The addition of Ryan Graydon to the Bradford side would add depth and quality. However, there are some areas where Graydon excels.
One of these areas is in possession, this campaign the striker has made 11 successful dribbles.
Alongside this, he has created 16 chances and assisted on three occasions.
This shows that the 26-year-old can make a positive impact when he has the ball, which would make a real difference in a game.
Furthermore, his defensive statistics are also impressive. This season, he has won 97 duels. As well as this, he has been able to make two blocks.
This arguably shows his ability to battle for the ball when he doesn’t have it and his ability to fight for a team in a match.
However, his ability to play accurate long balls can be seen to be one of his weak points.
So far this season, he has a percentage of 30.8% accurate long balls. If replicated at Bradford, this could be a potential problem.
This is because the Bantams are currently ranked 6th in the successful long balls ranking with 34.9%.
A Good Signing?
If Ryan Graydon signs for Bradford, the signing would be, on the surface, brilliant. He would bring excellent skills and knows how to score goals.
However, with the accuracy of his long balls, could his impact be limited?
