Four EFL clubs are interested in Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi, as per Pete O’Rourke on X.

Championship sides Hull City, Derby County, Oxford United along with League One Huddersfield Town are all said to be monitoring the Nigerian striker’s situation.

He is out of contract at Plzen next summer, but could be available in a cut price deal in January.

The 22-year-old is worth around £5.6m, according to Fotmob.

Who is Rafiu Durosinmi?

Born in Lagos, Durosinmi played youth football at Box2Box FC in Nigeria before moving to Karviná in Slovakia.

He joined the first team in 2022 and scored three goals in his debut season, before being loaned to Victoria Plzen.

Plzen exercised an option to buy Durosinmi in 2023 for just under £750,000.

He has a great record, scoring 33 goals in 80 appearances for Viktorka, including two goals in the Champions League and Europa League.

His career has been disrupted by injury – he suffered two separate ACL injuries in 2023 and 2024, but that hasn’t hindered his form.

He has scored 11 goals in 24 games so far this season, which explains why he is attracting interest from clubs across Europe.

Where could Durosinmi end up?

Should Durosinmi leave Plzen in January, the EFL could be a good destination.

Of the clubs rumoured to be interested in him, Derby and Hull are probably the favourites.

Derby are in 10th in the Championship, having recently picked up form after a slow start.

Hull are 5th, and continuing their push for automatic promotion.

Oxford, meanwhile, are 21st in the Championship with just 13 points, while Huddersfield are 10th in League One.

Huddersfield have a smaller budget than the Championship clubs and would probably struggle to afford Durosinmi.

The striker may not fancy being plunged into a relegation battle with Oxford, but the chance to perform at the top end of the Championship with either Hull or Derby may be difficult to turn down for the 22 year old.

He would get a platform to show his undoubted talent, and the Rams or Tigers would get a striker capable of firing their promotions bids.

Where do you think Durosinmi should go? Or should he stay at Plzen? Let us know in the comments!
