Birmingham City Playmaker Linked With Exit To Dutch Outfit

Birmingham City have been busy during this month’s transfer window with the outfit looking to push themselves further up the Championship table.

The Blues, 13th in the league currently, have made many signings this month including August Priske and Kai Wagner.

Speaking about the club when joining, Priske stated: “I said for the last couple of months that, to me, the really interesting part is finding a good project to be a part of and something where I feel like I can develop, and a club who also can take steps.

“And I feel like I’ve found something really great here with Birmingham – a great city, great fans, and a lot of exciting things for the future, so it was kind of a no-brainer.

“I spoke with Craig (Gardner) and Chris (Davies) pretty early on and they said that the (club’s) ambition is not to be where we are right now.”

However, plenty of names have also departed the club including Lyndon Dykes. Now, according to Gerlander, City playmaker Willum Willumsson has been targeted by Eredivisie side, NEC Nijmegen, with the outfit expressing an interest in him.

Willumsson has made ten appearances for Birmingham in the Championship this season but now could be on his way out of the club should the facts reported be true.

Now, City fans may look towards manager Chris Davies to see if the rumours are true and if Willum Willumsson will leave the club in the closing stages of this month.

If he does leave, it would create a gap in the Bluenoses midfield which could impact them in the future as the strive for success.

However, with just rumours emerging currently, Blues fans may be able to settle for the time being. As well as this, a deal between the two sides would have to be quick, making it arguably less likely.
