Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race for a star at Championship side Bristol City.

With only six months left on the 25-year-old’s contract, Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly joined the race for Anis Mehmeti’s signature.

The Bristol City winger has notched both the most goals (8) and most assists (6) for The Robins this campaign and his departure would be a massive blow to Bristol’s playoff hopes.

They currently sit in 11th but only 3 points below the playoff places.

Who Else is in the Hunt?

Although the prospect of Premier League football will certainly be tempting for the Albanian, it will take Wolves some doing to survive the drop zone this season despite them being unbeaten in 2026.

And their rivals in securing Mehmeti may be heading in the opposite direction.

At the moment, the other side monitoring Mehmeti’s situation, Ipswich Town find themselves in the Championship automatic promotion spots in 2nd with 50 points.

The Tractor Boys registered an interest first in the winger as they look to bolster their attacking options to strengthen their push in returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

But would Anis Mehmeti favour the blue side of East Anglia when he is a product of Norwich City’s academy setup?

The Transfer Saga for Bristol City’s Anis Mehmeti is Far From Over…

Bristol City boss Gerhard Struber has admitted that it’s “not a big surprise” that Anis Mehmeti has been rumored away from Ashton Gate but he does still have a “big hope” that the 25-year-old will stay in the South-West.

However, due to the Albanian’s contract expiring at the end of the season, this is the last chance where The Robins will be able to receive a fee for the winger.

And with Ipswich Town and now Wolves circling, a lengthy battle could be on the cards due to neither side yet making a reported offer.

With the race for Mehmeti’s signature being far from its finish line, this saga is looking likely to go all the way to the latter days of the January transfer window.
