Founded in 2002 by supporters of the original Wimbledon FC after its relocation to Milton Keynes, AFC Wimbledon are a fan-owned club proudly based in Wimbledon, London. The “Dons” (also nicknamed “The Wombles”) began life in the Combined Counties League and climbed through the pyramid to re-enter the Football League in 2011. Playing now at the Cherry Red Records Stadium (Plough Lane), AFC Wimbledon stand out for their community spirit, return to their spiritual home and rapid rise under supporter ownership.
