Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen has issued the update on Pierce Charles following his injury last weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday are arguably on a downward spiral currently, with this further deepened through the injury of goalkeeper Pierce Charles.
Charles, who has made nine appearances in the Championship for Wednesday this season, was injured in the Owls’ FA Cup defeat to Brentford.
Speaking about the injury initially, which forced the goalkeeper off the field in the 60th minute, manager Henrik Pedersen stated: “It’s the opposite shoulder and right now we don’t know but he has a lot of pain, so maybe a scan tomorrow [Sunday] and maybe we’ll know more.
“It’s awful for him. He is such an important part of our way of playing, defensively and offensively, and how he has played since he came back is fantastic.”
Charles had previously been injured earlier this season which kept him out for three months before returning from the injury recently following surgery.
Now, a timeline has been revealed by Pedersen as he aims to clarify the situation and the goalkeeper’s condition.
According to the BBC, Pierce Charles is expected to be missing for up to eight weeks with his latest injury.
Furthermore, speaking about Charles to the BBC, Henrik Pedersen stated: “He was in a good flow and going so well, strong defensively and strong with his feet.
“So of course he is sad, and now he is off until Monday, he can rest a little bit and then we will start the next step with him.”
Meanwhile, Pedersen also told BBC Radio Sheffield that the club are currently looking at bringing in a new goalkeeper to support Logan Stretch in the time that Pierce Charles is out.
Now, with this update provided by Pedersen, Owls fans may look towards who will replace Charles in his time off.
As well as this, supporters may look towards the ‘keeper to see if he can make it back in time for Northern Ireland’s World Cup qualifying game against Italy in late March.
But, if he does not make it back in time, it could have serious implications for the nation’s chances of winning qualification games and gaining a spot at next summer’s World Cup finals.
