Founded in 1878 by workers at George Salter’s Spring Works, West Bromwich Albion — nicknamed “The Baggies” — were one of the 12 founding members of the Football League in 1888. Their honours include the league title in 1919‑20, five FA Cup wins (1888, 1892, 1931, 1954, 1968) and the League Cup in 1966. They have played at The Hawthorns since 1900, one of the longest-used grounds in English football. After relegation from the Premier League in 2021, Albion currently compete in the Championship and aim to return to the top flight.
